All India Level AIPGE Introduction: As per Supreme Court Directives, All India Entrance Examinations for admissions to Post Graduate Medical Studies (MS/MD/Diploma) is conducted by All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi for 50% seats of all Government and municipal medical Colleges all over India and recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI) However, the examination does not cover the states of Andhra Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. The number of seats finalized through the entrance is approximately 1,800. Examination is held every year on first Sunday of January Eligibility: He or she must be an India National. Candidate should hold a MBBS degree from a Medical College recognized by MCI. The candidates should complete the rotating internship by 31st March The detailed eligibility criteria will be available from official brochure for which notification will be issued in the month of August in leading National English News paper. Nature of Examination: * There will be one paper of 3 1/2 hours duration containing 300 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) from pre-clinical, Para clinical and clinical subjects. * All questions will be objective type. Each answer with correct response shall be awarded four marks. Negative marking will be adopted for incorrect responses. One mark will be deducted for each negative response. Zero mark will be given for the question not answered. More than one answer indicated against a question will be deemed as incorrect response and will be negatively marked. * The competitive entrance examination shall be of the standard of MBBS examination and shall cover all the subjects of the M.B.B.S course AIIMS Nature of examination: Admission to various post graduate course conducted at the institute is made twice a year i.e May and November. Admission is given on the basis of an entrance examination conducted by the institute after issuing a country wide admission notice which is published in leading National English News paper usually during August / September and February /March for January and July session respectively. Total 200 MCQs of single response type are asked in 3 hours duration. Negative marking will be adopted for incorrect responses. * 50% seats are open for all India competition. * 55% aggregate in all 3 MBBS examinations is required * 56% aggregate in all 3 MBBS examinations in case failed once in MBBS examination. * 58% aggregate in all three MBBS examination in case failed twice in MBBS examination. * Candidates with two failure are not eligible * Internship should get over by 31st July and 31st January for May and November Entrance exam respectively PGI (Chandigarh) Nature of Examination: * Admission to various post graduate/ postdoctoral courses conducted at the institute is made twice a year. Session commences from 1st January and 1st July each year. * Admission is given on the basis of entrance examination conducted by the institute, after issuing a country wide admission notice which is published in leading National English News paper usually during August / September. and February /March for January and July session respectively. * Candidate who have made more than 1 attempt in their MBBS career are not eligible for MD/MS. * 250 MCQ's with five alternatives each and single/ multiple correct responses are to be solved in 3 hours. Negative marks will be given for incorrect responses marked correct. * For June Entrance Exam internship should get over 30th June and for December Entrance Exam by 31st December. JIPMER Tentative Date: May Eligibility : The candidates should complete the rotating internship before 31st march. Detailed eligibility criteria will be available from the official brochure for which notification is issued in the month of November / January. Nature of Examination : * There will be one paper of 3 hours duration containing 250 MCQs. 100 from pre/ Para clinical and 150 from clinical subjects. Exam usually occurs on 3 rd Sunday of March every year. * All questions will be objective type. Each answer with correct response shall be awarded 1 mark. There is no negative marking. More than one answer indicated against a question will be deemed as incorrect response. * The competitive entrance examination shall be of the standard of MBBS examination and shall cover all the subjects of the MBBS course. MAHE Tentative Date: February Eligibility : The candidate should complete the rotating internship before 27th August. Detailed eligibility criteria will be available from the official brochure for which notification is issued in the month of January / February. Nature of Examination : * There will be one paper of 3 hrs duration containing 200 multiple-choice questions of Pre clinical /Para clinical / clinical subjects. * All questions will be of objective type. Each answer with correct response shall be awarded 3marks. Negative marking will be adopted for incorrect response. One mark will be deducted for each negative response. Zero mark will be given for the question not answered. More than one answer indicated against a question will be deemed as incorrect response and will be negatively marked * The competitive entrance examination shall be of standard of MBBS examination and shall cover all the subjects of MBBS course. State PG courses Bihar Tentative Date: May Eligibility: The candidate should complete the rotating internship before 31st May. Detailed eligibility criteria will be available from the official brochure for which notification is issued in the month of December/January. Nature of Examination: * There will be one paper of 3 hrs duration containing duration containing two portions. Negative marking will be adopted for incorrect responses. One mark will be deducted for each negative response. Zero mark will be given for the question not answered. More than one answer indicated against the question will deem as incorrect response and will be negatively marked. * The competitive entrance examination shall be of the standard of MBBS examination and shall cover all subjects of the MBBS course Maharashtra Eligibility: He or she must be an Indian National Candidate should hold a MBBS degree from a medical college recognized by MCI and situated in Maharashtra affiliated to MUHS. However, candidate who are domicile of Maharashtra, who got admission under 15% quota for All India Entrance Examination and who have obtained their degree from University situated outside the State of Maharashtra will be eligible. The candidate should be complete compulsory rotating internship by 31st March. A candidate, who has taken more than four attempts in MBBS, will not be eligible Nature of Examination: 300 Multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of single responses objective type are to be attempted in 31/2 hrs. More than one answer indicated against negatively marked. * The competitive entrance examination shall be of the standard of MBBS examination and shall cover all the question will deem as incorrect response and will be subjects of the MBBS course West Bengal Tentative Date: February Eligibility: The candidate should complete the rotating internship before 30th April. Detailed eligibility criteria will be available from the official brochure for which notification is issued in the month of November. Nature of Examination: * There will be one paper of 2.30 hrs duration containing two groups. First group consists of 75 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of pre clinical and Para clinical subjects and second group consists of 125 MCQs of clinical subjects * All questions will be of objective type. Each answer with correct response shall be awarded four marks. Negative marking will be adopted for incorrect responses. One mark will be deducted for each negative response.
